Ski poles started out being made of bamboo. Then, during World War II, ski poles were made of steel. In 1958, Ed Scott invented the aluminum ski pole. It took another 31 years before Dave Goode invented the World's first Carbon Fiber ski pole. Today, GOODE Carbon Fiber ski poles are the choice of champions. GOODE sells more Carbon Fiber ski poles than all other companies combined.

In 1988,  GOODE was the first company to introduce a Carbon Fiber ski pole. In 1994,  GOODE was the first company in the world to introduce an all Carbon Fiber water ski.
